The 18th Annual Triad-Area Prudential Carolinas Realty Golf Tournament in October drew more than 70 golfers to Pine Knolls Golf Course in Kernersville. And when the last putt sank, the Green Valley team had won the coveted Triad Office Championship Trophy for the first time ever!
Even bad golfers were important in this game, though, as each mulligan, or “do-over,” meant a donation to the Matthew Gfeller Memorial Fund at the Winston-Salem Foundation. More than $800 was contributed to the fund which honors the memory of 15-year-old Matthew Gfeller, a Reynolds High School student who died after a freak accident on the field during the first game of this year’s football season.
The Tournament offered Triad-area offices an opportunity to build camaraderie and have some fun while raising money for a great cause, Joe Pinnix, Kernersville Broker-In-Charge, said, also acknowledging the hard work of Kernersville Office Administrator Jo Turner in “organizing this day of fun for the past 18 years!”
In addition to the 70 golfers, more than 150 attended the barbecue afterwards. Prizes were given to winning golfers (pictured l-r: Green Valley sales associate Dean Goad and Kelli Young and Chris Fuhrmann, son of Green Valley Broker-In-Charge Audrey Fuhrmann), and door prizes were available for all who attended.
