1. Burial Beer Co. – 40 Collier Ave. Asheville, NC 28801
Burial Beer Co. is a no-frills joint with a laid back atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable on their 12 house-brewed beers. As soon as you walk in, it’s sure to become one of your favorite places to grab a cold one.
2. Wicked Weed Brewing – 91 Biltmore Ave. Asheville, NC 28801
Wicked Weed is known for their prowess in funky beers such as wild ales, sours and more. As soon as you walk in, it’s apparent they truly care about the quality of their beer, the aesthetic appearance of the brewery, and the quality of food. It’s a complete package.
3. Green Man Brewing – 27 Buxton Ave. Asheville, NC 28801
Always considered a local favorite, Green Man Brewing is a friendly and relaxed place to have a beer with some friends. It’s a smaller place, but they have a wide selection of house-brewed beers for patrons to choose from. They also have a covered, dog-friendly patio outside and nice captains chairs at the main bar inside – a small touch that goes a long way. It’s really something more bars should do.
4. Thirsty Monk Pub – 92 Patton Ave Asheville, NC 28801
This fan favorite is three bars in one, with an American bar, a Belgian bar, and a cocktail bar all melded together into one amazing place. They have great food and friendly service that’s sure to get you to order second and third rounds.
5. Wedge Brewing Company – 125B Roberts St Asheville, NC 28801
The Wedge is a great summer hangout spot with a large outdoor seating area. The place has plenty of character and fits in very well with the surrounding art district with most of their furniture being made out of old scrap metal. They have ales, pilsners, IPAs, Belgians and more. There is something there for every kind of beer drinker.
6. One World Brewing – 10 Patton Ave Asheville, NC 28801
One World Brewing is a tucked away treasure that makes you feel like you’ve hit the jackpot when you walk in. They consistently have live bands playing, and an ever changing beer menu. If you live in Asheville and haven’t been here before, then you need to see what all the buzz is about for yourself.
7. Twin Leaf Brewery – 144 Coxe Ave Asheville, NC 28801
Twin Leaf Brewery is a cool spot with an old German beer hall feel crossed with a modern American warehouse. They have long picnic tables throughout which makes it great for mingling with new friends. The beer selection is phenomenal as well with lagers, pale ales, wits, saisons and more making it an enjoyable place no matter what your tasting preference is.
8. Sierra Nevada Brewery – 100 Sierra Nevada Way Fletcher, NC 28732
Okay, so it’s not actually in Asheville, but it would be a shame for it to not make this list. Sierra Nevada Brewery is considered by many to be one of the nicest breweries out there – and it’s one of the biggest I’ve ever been to. They have a cool outdoor section with games and comfortable seating all over; this is accompanied by a stage for live performances. Plus they have a mighty selection of fresh brewed delicious beers. It’s a definitely ‘must-go’ if you’ve never been.
