This is a must for people new to Chapel Hill and long-time community members. The 729-acre campus first opened it’s doors in 1795 and hosts many historic buildings. You can take both guided and unguided tours (with audio provided) of the campus from Monday to Friday.

The Chapel Hill Museum, though small, is a great place to broaden your horizons and take in some history. The museum features a 1914 Model T fire truck from 1914, a section on James Taylor and “Carolina On My Mind,” alongside many other neat displays. If you’re a history buff, this is the place for you.

Commonly referred to as the Smith Center, this is where the UNC Tarheels play their home basketball games. If you are able to get tickets, the games are great to attend. The arena is full of UNC spirit as everyone gets ready to watch some of the best college basketball America has to offer.
